OUR STORY
Roma Fortin founded Universal Structures in 1962, in Charlemagne, Quebec. Over 60 years later, the family business now spans more than four generations of steel erectors and crane operators, a testament to its legacy in the industry. To this day, Fortin’s passion permeates the family members and more than 60 dedicated employees who call the company home.
In the 1990s, Universal Structures expanded its operations to include assembling architectural concrete panels in order to attract new business. In the early 2000s, the company specialized in civil engineering, including the assembly of bridges and viaducts, thereby strengthening its position in the market. Additionally, it expanded its range of equipment to better serve its growing clientele, notably by offering crane rental services.
